It’s common knowledge that a cup of tea just ain’t right without a good bit of cake to go with it. With an under sink chiller, the tea bit is easy peasy, and now the cake bit can be, too- with our fail-safe scone recipe that has been tried, tested and approved on many occasions in the under sink chillers office. So please, try out our yummy scones; these quantities of ingredients make 8-10 little cakes, but trust us, you’ll be doubling the ingredients soon enough.

You’ll need: 225g self-raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
15g caster sugar
5g sultanas
150ml milk
Icing sugar to dust

Preheat the oven to 220°C. Mix the flour, baking powder and salt together. Rub in the butter with the tips of your fingers, until the mixture looks like fine breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar and sultanas, and enough milk to make a soft dough.
Divide the mixture into scones, place on a baking tray, and brush the tops of the scones with milk.

If you have any questions about any of our products or would like to send us any of your own preferred baked goods, please do get in touch and we’ll happily answer any questions you may have. N.B: Aforementioned baked goods don’t hold out so well in envelopes, we’d recommend a box for posting.
