Let’s face it, new year’s resolutions are rubbish. Not only does one feel enormous pressure to make unrealistic promises that are-apparently-to be adhered to for the rest of the year (even though you know deep down that this will probably not happen), but then the guilt ensues when said promises are broken. Well, dear under sink chiller blog reader, we think we can help. With 2011 already in full swing, and many aforementioned resolutions well and truly broken, why not make a real change this year, and promise yourself to order and oversee the installation of your very own under sink chiller. Things that Should not be Chilled

If you’re lucky/sensible enough to be the proud owner of one of our great under sink chiller units, you’ll know that having lovely, cool water on tap (oh we are funny) really makes life that much better. Of course, not everything is better when it’s cold, which is why this week, under sink chiller fans, we’re sharing some tips on which foodstuffs should be kept out of the fridge:

Honey: If you put honey in the fridge, it will harden and crystallise, making it very difficult to put on your toast. If this does happen, the process can be reversed by placing it in a pan of hot water, but it’s best not to make it do so in the first place.
Bread: Putting your bread in the fridge warps the structure of the starch, making it tough to bite into. Keep your loaf soft and fresh in a bread bin.
Tomatoes: Leaving tomatoes in a cold place has completely the opposite effect to bread, but is still unpleasant; they’ll turn mushy in the fridge.

There is no need, dear under sink chiller fan, to despair in the fact that this blog series- in which we explore ways in which you can make yourself super-thirsty, and thus enjoy the taste of water from your under sink chiller, to the max- has reached its final instalment. The blog will continue next fortnight, and there will be more words of wisdom. To go out with a bang, however, we have left one of the best of our favoured activities until last; horse riding. Wherever you are across the UK, your local riding stables will almost certainly have lessons and organised hacks (a load of horses going out at once) for all ages and abilities, with the emphasis on joining in and giving it a go. Just imagine, the feeling of the wind in your hair as you gallop along- and before you even know it, you’ll have really strong legs (and everything else) from all that saddle-sitting and balancing. Not only this, but it’s a great way to make friends that you can then invite back to yours for a nice cup of tea made from your under sink chiller.

Following last week’s under sink chiller blog, where we recommended you strap on some cowboy boots, unearth your checked shirt and head to Balham for some line dancing, we think we’ve found another great way to work up a thirst. All over London, a craze that has been going for some time, but is still as popular as ever, can be viewed on many a common or in many a park. British Military Fitness, the workout for people who love being shouted at for not running fast enough/sitting up high enough (and it seems there are plenty of them in our fair capital) is for everyone who wants to get a nice six pack/firm bum, pronto. Personally, we prefer being the bystander, lying in the grass by the ducks, and who is unexpectedly surrounded by keen sporty types. We recommend that before you sign up to this gruelling workout (we’re told it’s actually quite fun), you definitely get an under sink chiller installed, so that it is ready for your drinking pleasure once you return home sweaty, exhausted, and feeling mighty pleased with yourself. And so you should.

Line dancing, although you may think otherwise, is an extremely strenuous activity, which requires the utmost concentration, coordination and fitness…..if you’re lacking any of the aforementioned, you will certainly build these skills during lessons. We recently popped along to a lovely, welcoming and inclusive class at The Bedford pub in Balham, south west London, and had a lovely time. Even though we were somewhat inferior to the hip-swivelling, top-tapping veterans, we felt on top of the world at the end, and we think you would too. Why not go along and see what you think?

There’s few things that are more exciting and thrilling than when a celebrity does something useful for a great charity, particularly when the charity works to provide water filters for those who need them most, just like the ones you’ll find in your under sink chiller.
Long-time model and actress Pamela Anderson, mostly known for looking pretty in a red swimsuit on the ‘Baywatch’ set, has recently donated the entirety of her Playboy cover fee to Waves 4 Water, a charity that holds a special place in her heart. Their work includes distributing water filters to people who have no access to clean drinking water, something that we with our great under sink chiller units often take for granted. Some of the countries that Waves 4 Water have recently been working in include Pakistan, with people who’s livelihoods and health have been put in jeopardy by the flooding, and Haiti, helping survivors of the earth quake get the basic water they need.

Celebrate the Humble Tea Party

There are very few things that the under sink chiller team like better than to get a lovely cup of tea down them, and if it comes with a wedge of cake/something else with lots of sugar in it, then that’s even better. We’re delighted, therefore to have recently discovered a wonderful tea party-themed event that is taking London by storm, and allowing the lucky few who manage to get tickets for this unique and exciting happening the chance to get back to their childhood roots of good, wholesome fun (whilst at the same time not having to worry about monitoring their sugar intake). The first Tea-Totalled party happened mid-October, and keen punters were treated to chocolate fountains, a children’s birthday party room, and of course an unlimited supply of their favourite brew. What more could one want? Whilst you’re sitting at home feeling very sad that you missed out on the first party (or maybe you didn’t- if so, tell us all about it), we suggest consoling yourself with a nice under sink chiller, which will definitely make you lovely tea, whenever you so desire.
